On A More Serious Note - Help Us to Fight Depression
It is estimated that 1 in 5 people in Australia will experience depression at some stage during their lives. Which means most of us will be touched by depression either directly or indirectly. This is why, over the next month, Escape Day Spas will focus on raising funds to help beat this debilitating condition by participating in Lifeline's Stress Down Day and our very own Steve Andrews will embark on a solo motorbike ride around Australia to raise funds and increase the awareness of depression. Black Dog Ride Around Australia
Escape Day Spa Co-Owner, Steve Andrews, will embark on a solo motorbike trip around Australia on 26th July 2009 to raise community awareness about depression, one of the most common of all mental health problems.
It is currently estimated that around one million adults are living with depression in Australia. One in five people people experience depression at some stage of their lives which means you probably know someone fighting this debilitating condition.
Steve has named his ride the Black Dog Ride and will donate the money he raises to the Suicide Call Back Service . This is a free service that offers short to medium term support for people at risk of suicide, their carers, and those bereaved by suicide.
How can you help?

Remember, chances are that 1 in 5 of the people in your contacts file will suffer from depression at some time during their life.
